Research Assistant - The Center on Health Promotion Research for Persons with Disabilities at UIC (closes Aug. 13)

Who: UIC Center on Health Promotion Research

What: The Center on Health Promotion Research for Persons with Disabilities at UIC is hiring a research assistant to assist on projects related to health promotion, health policy, community inclusion, and the built environment. The position includes a tuition waiver and is for 50% time appointment (20hrs a week), although a smaller percent time may be considered.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing evaluation surveys online through Qualtrics 
  • Input, clean and organize data 
  • Summarizing qualitative data gathered from a pilot study 
  • Assisting with manuscript preparation 
  • Identifying sources of GIS data for new grant activities 
  • Collecting and organizing new secondary data sets 
  • Running preliminary statistics 
  • Assisting with additional office work related to the study

Qualifications:

  • Must be a UIC student 
  •  Experience working in research 
  • Excellent writing skills 
  • Experience developing Qualtrics surveys 
  • Masters or Doctoral candidates 
  • Detail oriented 
  • Background in health promotion, health policy, disability, or related field 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software Experience with GIS considered a plus
