Administrative Intern – Village of Grayslake

What: This position is responsible for assisting the Village departments in the administration and coordination of various organizational functions and programs. Who: The Village of Itasca, Illinois is an attractive, vibrant community located 27 miles northwest of downtown Chicago and 6 miles west of O’Hare International Airport. With a resident population of 8,800 and proximity to major expressways and rail transportation, the Village offers an ideal balance of residential, commercial, industrial and open space.

What: The internship will provide an experiential learning opportunity in major functional areas of local government: administration, finance, human resources, special events, communication and marketing. Americorps Vista Volunteer - Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (stipend position)

Who: The Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago (NHS) - Business Process Improvement Team. NHS of Chicago is driven by the belief that homeownership is essential to strengthening households and communities. We help low and moderate income residents become homeowners and maintain homeownership. More at nhschicago.org

What: The Neighborhood Housing Services of Chicago of Chicago (NHS) Business Process Improvement Team is seeking an Americorps Vista Volunteer to help drive a project to help us understand NHS of Chicago's long-term impact.

This “Understanding Impact” Vista project will look at a sampling of clients over recent years to gain understanding of impact on the lives of clients over time. The Vista will help design a data collection framework and strategy, collect data, analyze results, present findings, and create structure for NHS to continue to integrate ongoing long-term impact analysis. Results will enable data-informed decisions about where to focus efforts and resources to maximize positive long-term impact on low and moderate income household and communities.

Graduate Associate - World Business Chicago

Who: World Business Chicago - ChicagoNEXT team - Blackstone Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge program.
World Business Chicago is the City of Chicago’s non-profit, public private partnership that drives inclusive economic growth and job creation, supports business, and promotes Chicago as a leading global city. ChicagoNEXT is WBC’s dedicated initiative to drive growth and opportunity for Chicago’s tech economy. Our flagship programs include ThinkChicago, the Chicago Venture Summit and the Blackstone Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge.

What: World Business Chicago (WBC) is seeking a Graduate Associate to aid the ChicagoNEXT team in the management of the Blackstone Inclusive Entrepreneurship Challenge program. The three-year program, currently wrapping up its first year, will provide $3 million in grant funding to innovative organizations that effectively recruit and support diverse entrepreneurs and scale startups in the Chicago area. The selected programs serve diverse populations, including communities of color, women, veterans, and immigrants.

Volunteer Research Assistant (Transportation) - Metropolitan Planning Council

Who: Metropolitan Planning Council - Transportation Team

What: The MPC transportation team is currently looking for a Research Assistant (RA) for Summer 2018, possibly continuing into the fall. This position will include support on a range of technical analyses, stakeholder coordination, and advocacy oriented projects. Responsibilities will include: conduct technical research, conduct literature reviews, document meetings, conduct data analysis in Excel, develop GIS maps, prepare for and participate in meetings.
