Summary:

  • 3 months over the summer
  • Remote (50% of the time in the office)

Mission
The Jacky Grimshaw Fellows Program aims to create a pipeline for women of color who 
will lead transportation into a sustainable and equitable future.

When well-trained women of color are at the table to make decisions about transportation, outcomes are better and more responsive to the needs of individuals, families, and communities. The Jacky Fellows Program will shape the next generation of transportation decision-makers. Fellow Internships will prepare early-career women of color to shape public policy and transportation programs.

This new program at the Center for Neighborhood Technology will contribute to a pipeline of trained and experienced professionals to diversify the leadership of the transportation field.

Planning Intern/Assistant - Canete Medina Consulting Group

Canete Medina Consulting Group (Canete Medina), has openings for Planning
Intern/Assistant positions. The Planning Intern will be assisting with two National Academy
of Sciences (NAS) projects – one on the equity implications of e-commerce, the other on
strategies for improving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the transportation planning
profession. Their role will be to support Canete Medina with the quantitative and
qualitative research of the project. They will also be working on an onboard survey for the
City of Madison scheduled for Feb to May 2024. Other projects include planning consulting
work for public agencies, site selection studies for private clients, and research and product
development.

Government Finance Research Center (GFRC) Graduate Hourly Position

The Government Finance Research Center (GFRC) at the University of Illinois Chicago is seeking a graduate student for a limited, part-time hourly position to work on planning and development of the Certified Public ManagerÒ Program for Illinois residents working as managers in local, tribal, state, and federal governments and nonprofit organizations.

Hours Per Week: 20 hours/week
Duration: approximately 12 weeks
Rate of Pay: $30.12/hour

Planning and Engineering Internship Program - San Francisco Metropolitan Transportation Agency (SFMTA)

The SFMTA Planning and Engineering Internship Program is aimed at students pursuing degrees and careers related to transportation planning and transportation engineering. Interns join teams within the Agency’s Streets; Transit; Finance & Information Technology; Taxis, Access, & Mobility Services (TAMS) and Office of the Chief Strategy Officer divisions to work on projects that help residents and visitors of San Francisco get where they need to be safely and equitably.
