General Overview: 

 

The Shared-Use Mobility Center (SUMC) is a non-profit public interest organization promoting multi-modal transportation systems that work for all. Through pilot projects, research, capacity-building, and advocacy, SUMC helps communities realize a vision of an equitable and sustainable mobility future. 

SUMC is growing its LA office to serve a growing set of programs that support practitioners and stakeholders in pursuing transportation equity and innovation.  In particular, the Clean Mobility Options Voucher Pilot program (CMO) disseminates knowledge and resources throughout a rapidly growing mobility ecosystem of public agencies, community-based organizations, Native American tribes, and private sector mobility providers.

SUMC is looking for a Spring Intern to support the Clean Mobility Equity Alliance (CMEA), a network of California mobility project implementers and stakeholders that supports knowledge sharing and peer-learning within the Clean Mobility Options Pilot Program.

Research Assistant Position - Professor Renee Hatcher

Short Description of Position and Research Topic: 

Professor Hatcher is seeking a research assistant to work on a project (an academic law review article) related to topics solidarity economy, law and political economy, and regulatory regimes. Specifically, the selected research assistant will perform legal research, write summaries, and footnote and cite check a draft article on topics related to race, worker cooperatives, corporations, business associations, and organizational governance. Prof. Hatcher will meet with the selected student every other week to assess progress and provide additional guidance and direction for the project. The total anticipated number of student hours is 125 hours over the course of the project.

Interested students should submit application via email directly to Prof. Hatcher before the deadline of December 1, 2023. Professor Hatcher will review the applications and interview at least three students for the position. Law students of color and students from historically underrepresented communities are encouraged to apply.

Emerging Leaders Internship - Illinois Housing Council (IHC) - Mailing List

The Emerging Leaders Internship  (ELI) program is a 10-week paid internship program whose goal is to increase racial and gender diversity in the affordable housing industry by creating employment opportunities with a support structure that exposes the interns to the full spectrum of the affordable housing industry and introduces them to the people who can help advance them in their careers. The interns are hired directly by and work with developers, housing authorities, general contractors, and other IHC members while also attending educational programming hosted by IHC. The cohort of interns participate in Lunch & Learns with professionals from different sectors of the industry, trainings, and property tours. They are also supported in their job search when they complete the program.

IHC encourages current students and recent graduates interested in real estate development, community development, urban planning, public policy, and advocacy to apply. Applications will be accepted February 9 – March 8 and interviews will take place in early April.
