Part-Time Public Policy Assistant Consultant (Temporary Position) - MKM Consultants, LLC

MKM Consultants is a small public policy consultancy founded to provide non-profit, government and philanthropic organizations with the assistance needed to formulate and execute economic and workforce development strategies. MKM is seeking a Public Policy Assistant Consultant to assist with our research and consulting activities. This is a part-time position of approximately 5-10 hours a week and will last through at least June of 2023. There will be an option to extend. The position can also be structured as an internship if desired. The Principal Consultant, Meghann Moses, works out of her home in Oak Park, Illinois and the Assistant Consultant will also work from home, with the possibility of the occasional in-person meetings in the Chicagoland area. 

Compensation: The position will pay $30-35 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Council Summer Fellows Program - Montgomery County Council, MD

Program Background

The Montgomery County Council’s paid ten-week Summer Fellows Program is a unique opportunity that enables graduate students to gain real world local government experience across multiple fields. Summer 2024 will be our eight consecutive year hosting the program. We welcome students in policy-related graduate programs (policy, public administration, planning, public health, law, etc.) who will have completed their first year of study by summer 2024 to apply. Individuals who will have graduated by summer 2024 are not eligible for this program, but please check out our Year Long Fellows Program for recent graduates.

2024 Fellowship - Chicago United for Equity (CUE)

The Chicago United for Equity Fellowship is a year-long program for racial justice leaders across the city to strengthen their racial equity practice and strategize for a brighter future.


The CUE team is delighted to announce that applications are now open for the 2024 CUE Fellowship! Now in its sixth year, we’re looking for the next cohort of racial justice leaders ready to tackle the most pressing equity issues in Chicago.


The CUE Fellowship is a year-long program designed to bring together 15-20 leaders across civic sectors to strengthen their racial equity practice. This community of change agents will learn new frameworks, policy tools and civic change strategies to apply to their very own Racial Equity Projects.


We encourage Fellows to bring their hearts, minds, and bodies into this work. Our diverse perspectives allow the CUE community to analyze policy issues from all angles and develop strategies to address and alleviate harm to those most impacted. It’s this process, building relationships and taking meaningful action, that makes the CUE Fellowship curriculum so effective.

Summer ‘19 Google Public Policy Fellowship for US and Latin America (Due 2/15)

Who: The Google U.S. and Latin America Policy Fellowship program offers undergraduate, graduate, and law students interested in Internet and technology policy the opportunity to spend the summer contributing to the public dialogue on these issues, and exploring future academic and professional interests.

What: Fellows will have the opportunity to work at public interest organizations at the forefront of debates on broadband and access policy, content regulation, copyright and creativity, consumer privacy, open government, government surveillance, data security, data innovation, free expression and more. Fellows will be assigned a lead mentor at their host organizations and will have the opportunity to work with several senior staff members over the course of the summer. Summer Analyst Fellow - HR&A Advisors (NYC)

Who: HR&A provides strategic advisory services for clients in the public, private, and non-profit sectors to solve some of the most complex challenges facing cities today. We care about improving the quality of urban life, and we are increasingly focused on the challenges of inclusivity, infrastructure, and technological innovation in cities as we advance public-private development projects that improve economic, environmental, and social outcomes.

What: We are seeking full-time Summer Analyst Fellows for 12 weeks in our New York, Dallas, Los Angeles, Raleigh, and Washington, DC offices. Our analytical staff form the foundation of our team-oriented and collaborative structure, and help to drive our data-driven approach to city building. Many current members of HR&A’s team started as Summer Analyst Fellows.

Summer Analyst Fellows are asked to take on responsibilities in line with those of the core analytical staff at HR&A. Day-to-day tasks range from project to project, and often include market analysis; case study research; econometric modeling; spatial analysis; preparation of real estate pro formas for a range of uses and public-private structures; and public policy analysis. Analysts also help prepare written reports, presentations, and Excel models for clients, as well as firm marketing materials and proposals for new projects.

Research Assistant (part time) – Woodstock Institute (Chicago)

Who: Woodstock Institute is seeking a part-time research assistant to assist Woodstock’s research team with a project studying a program which provides home modifications for people with disabilities.
Woodstock Institute is a leading nonprofit research and policy organization in the areas of equitable lending and investments; wealth creation and preservation; and safe financial products, services, and systems. Woodstock Institute works locally and nationally to create a financial system in which lower-wealth persons and communities of color can safely borrow, save, and build wealth so that they can achieve economic security and community prosperity.

The Research Assistant will work with Woodstock’s research team on a large research project examining a program which provides home modifications for people with disabilities. Who: Public Policy and International Affairs Program

Summer Campaign Associate - Kwame Raoul Attorney General Campaign

Who: Kwame Raoul Attorney General Campaign

What: Summer Campaign Associates will be exposed to a wide array of campaign operations including but not limited to field organizing, campaign communications, research, event coordination, social media outreach and direct voter interaction. Specific positions are available in the communications, organizing, and policy and research departments.
