Job Summary
Under the general supervision of the Office of the General Superintendent staff. The Seasonal Bicyclist Trail Project Aide will assist with a trail signage project throughout the Forest Preserve District of Cook County (“District”). Duties will include, but are not limited to, verifying signage placement along the District’s trail system by biking and hiking assigned trails, providing GPS coordinates, descriptions, and other valuable information to the Planning & Development and Resource Management departments to help improve the District’s trail experience for visitors to the Forest Preserves. This position requires riding a company issued electric bicycle and driving a company vehicle while transporting the bike. This is a seasonal position, the duration of which is up to four months depending on scheduled work hours.

Water Sampling Technician - Grad Hourly, UIC School of Public Health

The Division of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences is seeking students to fill our part time hourly Water Sampling Technician positions, duties are listed below:

Water sampling technicians will drive to approximately 5-6 beaches and collect water samples following a research protocol. Water samples will be collected and delivered to the UIC School of Public Health Water Microbiology Laboratory (2121 W. Taylor Street) for analysis. This will involve a total of 10-20 miles of driving per day. Technicians will begin work at approximately 5:30 AM (sunrise), and finish at approximately 8:00 AM. In addition to the hourly salary, water-sampling technicians will also be paid for miles driven at the UIC mileage rate ($0.655 per mile).

  1. Update existing housing data materials to be shared with leaders and officials.
  2. Changes in Bank Giving Community Development: Do bank philanthropic giving contributions rise or fall in relation to annual net profits? Complete data collection and analysis from federal reporting portals.
  3. Shared Housing in Cook County: Pursue data collection and identification of coops, townhomes, and condominiums and produce fact sheets for Center for Shared Ownership project.
  4. Federal Housing support into Illinois. Document and analyze shifting housing resources from several sources and government levels in order to better understand future housing options.
  5. CDC Surveys: Research and draft surveys of CDC programming, inventory, staff, and economic impact.

Managed by the Partnership for Public Service, the Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program helps bring diverse young talent to government and offers students the opportunity to apply their educational training to work at a federal agency. 2023 Summer Customer Experience and Service Innovation Intern, Chicago Transit Authority

Description
Chicago Transit Authority is the second largest transit system in the country! Our college internship program offers summer and year-long internships that provide students with valuable work experience, professional development, and mentorship. Students receive exposure to the discipline of the workplace and are guided by subject matter experts who assist them in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to perform in today’s technically demanding careers. Interns at CTA work in a range of departments across the authority.
