Planning Intern/Assistant - Canete Medina Consulting Group

Canete Medina Consulting Group (Canete Medina), has openings for Planning
Intern/Assistant positions. The Planning Intern will be assisting with two National Academy
of Sciences (NAS) projects – one on the equity implications of e-commerce, the other on
strategies for improving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in the transportation planning
profession. Their role will be to support Canete Medina with the quantitative and
qualitative research of the project. They will also be working on an onboard survey for the
City of Madison scheduled for Feb to May 2024. Other projects include planning consulting
work for public agencies, site selection studies for private clients, and research and product
development.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with stakeholder outreach, online surveys, and key person interviews
  • Maintaining stakeholder databases
  • Collecting data and assisting with data analytics
  • Preparing maps using GIS
  • Assisting with survey crew recruitment, hiring, and onboarding
  • Assisting with crew scheduling and survey logistics
  • Assisting staff with writing and compiling reports

Minimum qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, transportation, engineering, or related field
  • Authorized to work in the US.

Pay rate: $18-$28 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience
Work Schedule: Flexible. Approximately 160 hours of work.
Work Locations: Chicago and Los Angeles - Hybrid or Remote. Madison (WI) – Hybrid.
