Planning Intern Community Development - Western Springs

Job Title: Planning Intern Community Development
Job Type: Intern - 32 hr/week
Location: Western Springs, IL
Salary: 18/hr

The Village of Western Springs is accepting applications for a summer seasonal Planning Intern. We seek a qualified candidate looking for a rewarding work environment and a wide range of responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Planning Intern will support various community development activities, including assisting with planning projects, reviewing zoning cases, and preparing essential documents. Responsibilities include surveying community conditions related to planning and zoning, creating maps and graphics to support both current and long-term planning initiatives, and gaining practical experience with development codes and zoning entitlement processes.

This internship is designed to provide professional development opportunity for individuals pursuing a career in planning and community development. The Planning Intern will work with the Community Development Department team to complete planning and zoning assignments. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

GIS Summer Intern - City of Joliet

Job Title: GIS Summer Intern
Job Type: Full Time (May - August)

Salary: $19/hour

GENERAL PURPOSE 
This position is responsible for assisting staff by providing GIS services to departments, public, and contractors. GIS Internship duties include updating GIS data, creating maps, and addressing. They will assist with GIS tasks using ESRI’s suite of products.

Support economic development initiatives through project planning, research, and data analysis. Responsibilities include preparing presentations and reports, coordinating events and meetings, engaging with businesses and community organizations, and performing administrative tasks. The position also involves assisting with special projects as assigned by the Economic Development Director.
