Role Description

Position available for Spring 2023

The UIC Library is seeking a qualified graduate student to aid with an IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services, LG-252338-OLS-22). The aim of the grant is to develop assessment tools that utilize information and data beyond learning analytics, such as academic engagement, psychological factors, and students’ definitions of academic success and to demonstrate the impact of the library on students’ academic success from the learners’ perspective.

Work hours:
10-15 Hours / Week

Job Description:
The Graduate Hourly student will work with the Principal Investigators to:
• Correspond with survey participants
• Assist with recruitment and management of weekly journaling participants
• Oversee management of online weekly journaling tool
• Follow-up and remind participants to complete weekly journaling tool
• Participate with analysis of open-ended questions

Qualifications:
A successful candidate will demonstrate a clear understanding of qualitative
assessment and analysis.
An ideal candidate will have a background in surveys, measurement, and assessment, and have strong written and verbal communication.

This position will start at the end of January 2023 and the work will continue over the Spring.
There is an opportunity to continue in this role after the initial period, based on their performance
and availability.
