Summer 2019 Metro Transit Internships - Metropolitan Council (Minneapolis, St. Paul)

Who: The Metropolitan Council is the regional planning agency serving the Twin Cities seven-county metropolitan area and provides the following essential services to the region:
  • Metro Transit (MT) provides bus & light rail public transportation for the greater metropolitan area 
  • Environmental Services (ES) manages the wastewater collection system for the 7-county metropolitan region 
  • Community Development (CD) shapes the Council's regional growth plan & provides affordable housing programs 
  • Metropolitan Transportation Services (MTS) provides transportation planning functions in the region 
  • Regional Administration (RA) provides support services for the Council
What: As a 2019 Intern with the Metropolitan Council you will benefit from on the job training and mentoring along with participation in team projects, social events and professional development. Interns will receive the opportunity to build professional relationships and enhance their interpersonal skills. Interns will also interact with their coworkers and participate in projects that directly impact business value.
Interns work full time during Summer 2019 with a pay of $18.50/hour
Three positions available including Energy and Sustainability, Gold Line Environmental, and MTPD Records Unit.
Qualifications: Must be enrolled in a post-secondary education program OR Be a recent graduate (within 12 months) from a post-secondary education program; Can commit to working full time during summer 2019 and part time during the 2019-2020 school year
