Public Works Administrative Intern - Village of Itasca

Title: Public Works Administrative Intern

Type: Internship, Flexible hours

Location: Itasca, IL

Pay: +/- $18/hour, depending on qualifications

The Village of Itasca is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as an Administrative Intern in the Public Works Department. This position offers the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with an emphasis on Public Works project work. This temporary position is anticipated to last at a minimum through August 2025.

Essential Duties:

  • Providing support for ongoing administrative activities
  • Answering and returning phone calls
  • Communicating with residents
  • Filing and research
  • Participating in project meetings and minute-taking
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • Currently working toward a degree in Public Administration or related field
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)  
  • Ability to work independently, follow all Village standards, including those related to safety
  • Ability to organize work, perform efficiently and follow through when necessary
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
