CRN Research Projects 2023 -- Graduate Interns Needed!

Projects:
  1. Update existing housing data materials to be shared with leaders and officials.
  2. Changes in Bank Giving Community Development: Do bank philanthropic giving contributions rise or fall in relation to annual net profits? Complete data collection and analysis from federal reporting portals.
  3. Shared Housing in Cook County: Pursue data collection and identification of coops, townhomes, and condominiums and produce fact sheets for Center for Shared Ownership project.
  4. Federal Housing support into Illinois. Document and analyze shifting housing resources from several sources and government levels in order to better understand future housing options.
  5. CDC Surveys: Research and draft surveys of CDC programming, inventory, staff, and economic impact.

Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program - Fall 2023, Partnership for Public Service

Description

Managed by the Partnership for Public Service, the Future Leaders in Public Service Internship Program helps bring diverse young talent to government and offers students the opportunity to apply their educational training to work at a federal agency. The program is actively recruiting its fall 2023 cohort to join the Department of Transportation, National Science Foundation and the Small Business Administration as paid interns. Undergraduate, graduate and professional students from across all academic disciplines are welcome to apply. Fully remote and in-person opportunities are available.

2023 Summer Customer Experience and Service Innovation Intern, Chicago Transit Authority

Description
Chicago Transit Authority is the second largest transit system in the country! Our college internship program offers summer and year-long internships that provide students with valuable work experience, professional development, and mentorship. Students receive exposure to the discipline of the workplace and are guided by subject matter experts who assist them in acquiring the skills, knowledge, and experience needed to perform in today’s technically demanding careers. Interns at CTA work in a range of departments across the authority.  
Our internships are project-based; therefore, the skills that we seek vary based on the needs of the projects during each term. All majors are welcome to apply, but please see education experience/requirements for specifics about what disciplines each internship project is seeking.  
Internships are part-time (15 hours a week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours a week) during the summer.

Overview: The position will work on various assignments within the
Administration, Community Development, and Finance Departments to provide
the Management Intern with experience and on the job training for higher level

JOB SUMMARY:
This position conducts field inspections to determine if diseases, insects, or other natural or unnatural occurrences have affected trees in the village’s urban forest.  This position answers requests from residents pertaining to tree health and care and prepares written and verbal reports based on inspection data.  Position is for the summer months typically based on a 40 hour work week.
 
To succeed in this role candidates should be detail oriented, self-motivated, and possess superior organization and writing skills.
