Internship - Chicago Dept. of Planning & Development, Workforce Solutions Unit

Who: City of Chicago Department of Planning and Development promotes the comprehensive growth and sustainability in the city and its neighborhoods. The Workforce Solutions Division is seeking students who want to acquire knowledge and valuable work experience in public sector/City government operations.

What: The intern will:
  • Perform various functions to support programs, projects and strategic initiatives 
  • Research and analyze information for projects and reports 
  • Assist in the development of an operational manuals, and the streamlining and standardization of operational procedures 
  • Participate in the development of surveys, focus groups and marketing objectives
The internship is unpaid, but may be used to obtain academic credit.
Expected start date and hours per week: Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 16-21 hrs./wk. - flexible hours to meet the needs of the student and department.

Qualifications:
  • Must be a current college level junior, senior or graduate school student in good academic standing 
  • Must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 grading scale or a 3.5 on a 5.0 grading scale 
  • Students who are majoring in Urban Planning, Public Affairs, Political Science, Business Administration or Liberal Arts is preferred

  1. Hi, When I searched for this position on the city of Chicago's website I received the PDF version of this posting. The posting states to send the information to the City of Chicago Human resources department. Is this posting directly from Dawn Fuentes/HR?
