Internship - Teska Associates (Evanston)

Who: Teska Associates is a full-service planning firm with offices in Evanston and Plainfield. Teska is seeking individuals to join the firm in pursuing our mission of “Building Community, Creating Place”. For over forty years Teska has been inventing (and reinventing) ways to help our client communities and neighborhoods face today’s challenges and achieve tomorrow’s goals. Successful job candidates are expected to share our excitement for helping communities and our drive to meet client’s needs through many types of planning projects and services. The firm’s practice is focused around Chicago, Illinois, and the Midwest.

What: The intern's work tasks are as follows:
  • Working with other staff on client-based assignments including neighborhood, comprehensive and corridor plans 
  • Preparing documents and maps including graphics, text, and data analysis 
  • Layout of documents, presentation, exhibit boards, marketing materials, and interactive experiences for communities 
  • Attending and supporting meetings, workshops and events. 
  • Documenting existing conditions in the field. 
Qualifications:
  • Strong communication and graphic skills 
  • Comfort working with communities and their residents 
  • Degree or progress toward a degree in urban planning, community development, or related field
  • Skill with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Illustrator), Microsoft, GIS and spreadsheet analysis
