Summer 2024 State & City Government Relations Intern - Chicago Field Studies

Overview:
McGuireWoods Consulting is looking for a State & City Government Relations Intern in the Chicago, IL office.

Founded in 1998, McGuireWoods Consulting LLC (MWC) is a full-service public affairs firm offering infrastructure and economic development, strategic communications & grassroots, and government relations services. McGuireWoods Consulting is a subsidiary of the McGuireWoods law firm and has been ranked in the Top 20 of The National Law Journal's "The Influence 50," an annual report of the top public affairs firms in Washington, D.C.

Responsibilities:
· Monitor various legislative and other committee meetings in order to track the progress of specific legislation or policy initiatives
· Prepare client-specific weekly legislative reports during legislative sessions or as needed
· Assist in maintaining event calendars
· Research and write position statements, policy documents, public relations materials, etc.
Schedule:
· As close to four days per week, 9AM-5PM, as possible. 
· Must be able to come into the office in downtown Chicago 1-3 days per week.
